Scattered morning clouds will quickly clear to mainly sunny skies with dry conditions areawide.Hazy skies continue, brought on by a cloud of African dust. Austin's air quality is expected to be moderate due to the dust through the coming weekend. This will allow hotter than normal summer conditions to continue throughout the 8-14 day period as well, likely meaning Austin breaks the all-time record for consecutive 100 degree days which currently stands at 27 days (set in 2011).Consider supporting our ongoing KXAN Summer Fan Drive in partnership with Family Eldercare by clicking here.FIRST WARNI...98.3 TRY Social Dilemma: Is It Okay to Dip Into Your Child's College Fund for Expenses?

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Today's 98.3 TRY Social Dilemma came from Philip and it's about money issues. Here's his email: Get the latest news, weather, sports and entertainment delivered right to your inbox! Hi Jaime. I have a real dilemma for you to use. Things have been a bit rough lately when it comes to household finances for my family, and there’ve been some tough decisions that needed to be made. One of the things I’ve been steadfast in not touching has been our daughter’s college fund. She’s 16 now, and we’ve been saving since she was a baby…and now that fund is over $40K. My wife and I have been tempted to dip into it, and have even discussed it, but so far, we haven't. However, we have some big bills coming up and I'm not sure we're going to be able to cover them without "borrowing" some of the money. I'm just worried that once that door is opened, it’ll never close…and I’ll resent myself forever. On the other hand, if we need the money for household expenses, shouldn't we...Triple digit heat Friday, storm chance Saturday

Dear Amy: I am incredibly hurt by not being invited to either of my two employees’ baby showers. It’s just the three of us in this office. Because of my choice to provide growth and creative opportunities for these employees, as well as flexibility and generous compensation and benefits — my life is pretty miserable. They are flourishing while I am left with a hugely complicated list of administrative tasks, including being a one-person HR department. This is in addition to managing the many other responsibilities essential to the existence of the organization. It is very hard to find someone willing and able to handle these essential but extremely boring tasks, although I keep trying, while I chip away.We all know a lot about each other’s personal lives, which are entwined in various ways (through relatives and friends), and I care about them very much. This feels like a personal rejection. The reform of the electricity market, to make it more stable, affordable and sustainable, received the support of the Energy Committee on Wednesday.Stronger consumer protection against volatile prices Special contracts, long-term purchase agreements to help encourage energy investments More protection to stop vulnerable households from having their electricity cut off In their amendments to the draft legislation, MEPs propose to further strengthen consumer protection against volatile prices. The aim is to ensure that all consumers, as well as small businesses, would benefit from long-term, affordable and stable prices and to mitigate the impact of sudden price shocks.MEPs also advocate that EU countries prohibit suppliers from cutting the ele...Horoscopes July 28, 2023: Dustin Milligan, trust and believe in yourself

I saw Cy the Cynic in the club lounge, sitting at a far-corner table. He looked glum.“Minnie’s glasses got him again,” Rose told me. “Don’t let Cy fool you. Minnie is 82, and deep down, he admires her.”Minnie Bottoms, our senior member, wears old bifocals that make her mix up kings and jacks, often to her opponents’ dismay. Cy has been Minnie’s chief victim. He declared today’s 3NT in a duplicate, and West led a low heart.“Minnie was East,” Rose said, “and played the jack! Cy took his king and led the ten of diamonds — and Minnie said it was her lead.”“She thought her jack had been the king,” I smiled.SECOND HEART“Cy let the ten ride,” Rose said. “Minnie won and led the ace and another heart, and down the Cynic went. He should have led the jack of diamonds; it might have won the trick!”Minnie’s play was correct; Cy needed the king of hearts to have 16 points ...Latest news
