SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Alissa Pili scored 22 points and collected six rebounds to lead No. 10 Utah to a 98-34 victory over Merrimack on Friday night.Kennady McQueen added a season-high 18 points on six 3-pointers for the Utes. Ines Vieira dished out 11 assists, finishing with double-digit assists for the second time in three games. A head-on traffic crash left an 86-year-old man dead on Thanksgiving evening in Concord, authorities said.The wreck happened about 6:50 p.m. Thursday on Oak Grove Road near Treat Boulevard, according to Lt. Robert Garcia of the Concord Police Department.A vehicle was driving north on Oak Grove Road when it hit one vehicle and then slammed into another vehicle, which was traveling in the southbound lanes and carrying the 86-year-old man, Garcia said. The man was taken to a hospital, where he later died. It is not clear whether anyone else was injured.The driver of the northbound vehicle was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, Garcia said.The crash remains under investigation. Don Horsely, the former longtime San Mateo County sheriff and supervisor who spent more than 25 years in elected office across the Peninsula, died on Friday.Horsley’s death was announced Friday evening by the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office, where Horsley worked his way up from a low-level patrol deputy to the county’s top lawman in a career that spanned more than three decades.
