As we have mentioned, this is a different year with a new pattern that has not been seen in several years. This El Niño pattern overall will bring fewer precipitation opportunities and potentially more mild air. But the devil is in the details, so let's dive in.DecemberDecembers are not what they used to be. I could solidify myself as an old guy by saying, “when I was a kid…" But I think you have noticed it too—not much snow happens in December. We’ve had a few November snows in recent years, but December has generally come up short. This year is a little different. Based on current models and global trends, we should have a dramatic cold front on the move in the middle half of the month. It's a front with some cold air, but also a precipitation chance. If this happens like the model are point to, then there is a possibility that there could be snow for Christmas. The climate trends only give us about a 20-30% chance of a white Christmas every year. But some years, a rouge storm can...Safety concerns linger after St. Louis officer responding to gunfire hurt in crash

A lot of the heat will be gone by the time Green Wednesday arrives, that’s a promise. At its core, Green Wednesday is appealing particularly to those aiming to treat their grandmothers to THC-infused gummies on Thanksgiving. Look out for my upcoming Green Wednesday list; I’ll have it ready next week. But let’s refocus on our community—the enthusiasts on the quest for the most exceptional quality. We’re not about to risk approaching Turkey Day without securing a few of the most potent strains Angelinos can get their hands on. It’s part of our daily routine, no matter the distractions of dealing with Uncle Bob’s possibly anticapitalist behavior while asking him to pass the cranberry sauce. And the idea of waiting until Wednesday? Absolutely not. The real premium stuff will likely have vanished by then, snatched up by early birds that knew they would need some real hitters to deal with the family. Even worse about waiting? Emeryville Fire was first-in at 3:46 a.m. All fires look larger at night; from the Peninsula, the maze looked to have been nuked. Gov. Schwarzenegger declared an emergency and repairs were completed in under three weeks. Shows what happens when the government gets moving and opens the checkbook — wide. Now about the I-10 fire. No one wants to be politically incorrect to call it plainly: arson started in the homeless camp below the freeway. If the fire hasn’t already moved the campers, the repair contractor surely will. With all deliberate speed.I get the feeling the advocates for the “unhoused” won’t be standing in the way this time. Nor will any judge.
