What does that mean?
Published Mon, 23 Dec 2024 19:45:17 GMT
ST. LOUIS - On the heels of Memorial Day weekend, there could be concerns about the air quality for some around the St. Louis region. The City of St. Louis and many nearby counties are under an "orange" air quality rating on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., according to the National Weather Service. Woman ‘saving up’ as Ferguson PD cracks down on expired tags The “orange” rating is based on the U.S. Air Quality Index, which means the index values are between 101 and 150. During such advisories, health experts say members of sensitive groups may experience health effects, but the general public is less likely to be affected. When an "orange" rating is deemed, certain populations should consider precautions or limits with their outdoor activities. That may include, but not be limited to, people with lung diseases, older adults, children and people who are active outdoors. Close Thanks for signing up! Watch for us in your inbox. By Melissa Clark, The New York TimesThe best advice for making shrimp cocktail I ever learned came from the great chef and cookbook author James Beard. He was adamantly against it.Not the shrimp, of course, which he adored, but rather the “overpowering red menace known as cocktail sauce,” as he wrote in his classic cookbook, “The New James Beard.”“If you value their sweet and delicate flavor,” he said, pair your shrimp with lemon, mayonnaise or my personal favorite, a tangy rémoulade sauce.Beard’s classic French rémoulade calls for a homemade mayonnaise spiked with loads of capers, lemon juice and parsley. I added horseradish and hot sauce for a kick, and just enough ketchup to tint the sauce pale pink without letting it cloy. The result is as creamy as it is bracing, an excellent foil to the shrimp’s sweet salinity.Beard sorted out the sauce part for me, but to improve the shrimp I turned to another culinary great, Ina Garten.Related ArticlesRestaurants, Food and Drink | ...Why a fight over ticket regulations didn’t end when Colorado lawmakers gave it the OK

A bill to regulate ticket sales in Colorado is awaiting Gov. Jared Polis’ signature, but the fight over public opinion still isn’t over. The bill was introduced early in the last legislative session, with sponsor Sen. Robert Rodriguez saying he just wanted to make going to shows and concerts easier. But what he hoped would be a cut-and-dried consumer protection bill unfolded into a prolonged turf war that, weeks after the final vote was taken, still lacks a clear outcome. If the bill, SB23-60, becomes law, it would ban bots from automatically buying up swaths of tickets and require sellers to disclose the total cost of the tickets — fees and all — upfront. It would also ban sellers from increasing a ticket price after it had already been selected for purchase and third parties from selling tickets they don’t actually have. But provisions on reselling, and transparency around total available tickets pitted primary and secondary sellers against each other ...Deputy admits gang affiliation, shows tattoo in court: Los Angeles Times

Commission blasts former Los Angeles County Sheriff Villanueva on alleged deputy gangs Villanueva has long asserted the groups don't exist, going so far as to send the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors a cease-and-desist letter telling them to stop using the term "deputy gangs."However, the Civilian Oversight Commission found the groups do exist and that those who have spoken up ab...GO Campaign’s Vintage Hollywood Food Festival Returns on Saturday, June 10
