Two UCF men’s basketball players file for early entry to 2023 NBA Draft The NBA released a list of 242 players from colleges and professional teams who have applied for early entry into the 2023 draft Tuesday night and two members of UCF men’s basketball were on it.Taylor Hendricks, a projected top-10 pick in June’s draft, was included as expected.A name that’s somewhat surprising to see listed is UCF guard Ithiel Horton. While Hendricks had already publicly declared for the draft over a month ago — first by telling ESPN and then sharing a graphic on social media — Horton’s decision to file for early entry comes with little to no fanfare. The redshirt senior guard was one of two Knights to start all 34 of UCF’s games this past season. Hendricks, the program’s first one-and-done, was the other player to do so.It’s unclear when Horton made the decision to enter the draft early but the deadline for players to do so was Sunday night. If Horton wants to return to UCF and join the Knights in the Big 12 Confer...

Akil Saeed Daniels, 41, will serve 110 months behind bars after holding up a California Coast Credit Union in Chula Vista and Mission Federal Credit Union in Poway. An interesting twist to the crime spree -- these robberies occurred just months after Daniels was released from a long stint in prison for robbing the very same Chula Vista credit union more than a decade earlier, said U.S. attorney Randy Grossman's office. Helicopter to drop larvicide across San Diego’s waterways During the most recent robbery of California Coast, which is located on H Street, officials say Daniels used a demand note. UK House of Commons set to back controversial migration bill LONDON (AP) — A sweeping British bill that will dramatically curb migrants’ ability to seek asylum in the U.K. is due to be approved by lawmakers on Wednesday, despite critics’ allegations that it breaks international law.The government says the Illegal Migration Bill will deter tens of thousands of people from trying to reach the country in small boats across the English Channel each year.Although opposition lawmakers claim they have not had enough time to scrutinize it, it is likely to easily clear the House of Commons, where the governing Conservatives have a large majority.“This government has sought to railroad this deplorable, disgusting bill through the House of Commons,” said Stephen Flynn of the opposition Scottish National Party. The bill is likely to face strong opposition in Parliament’s upper chamber, the House of Lords, though the unelected Lords don’t have powers to block it completely. The legislation bars asylum claims by anyone who reaches the U.K. by unauthorized me...
