(AP) — Liberty coach Jamey Chadwell has been named the Paul “Bear” Bryant Group of Five coach of the year after guiding the Flames to a 13-0 record and a spot in the Fiesta Bowl on Jan. 1 in his first season with the team.Chadwell also is a finalist for the Bryant coach of the year award, which also includes coaches from Power Five conferences. DENVER (KDVR) — A guilty verdict was handed down by a Boulder County jury on Thursday in a case regarding a woman's death at a popular Colorado hiking area. Hours later, a judge sentenced the man to serve life in prison.Jamie Moore, 32, was accused of killing a New Mexico woman and dumping her body near Realization Point Trailhead off Flagstaff Road in Boulder. 5 units destroyed in large overnight fire at Aurora construction site Alexis Baca, 25, of Las Cruces, New Mexico, was discovered by hikers on July 24, 2022. DENVER (AP) — A federal judge said she would decide by Friday whether to temporarily halt the impending reintroduction of gray wolves to Colorado under a voter-approved initiative, after representatives of the state's cattle industry went to court to try to stop the predators' release.If the judge sides with the industry, the decision would scramble Colorado Parks and Wildlife's plans of searching for, capturing and transporting up to 10 wolves from Oregon starting Sunday. ARVADA, Colo. (KDVR) — Parents raised $13,000 to give Jeffco Public Schools bus drivers and transportation workers a special surprise this holiday.This week, bus drivers navigating through snow and cold temperatures came back to donuts and a gift at their terminals. Some $13,000 was raised from donations from Jeffco families and Hestra Gloves, along with food donations. The drive resulted in 60 dozen donuts for all four bus terminals and 369 pairs of Hestra gloves for all bus drivers, terminal workers, mechanics and food delivery drivers.The gifts and the gesture brought bus driver Lloyd McElheny to tears. Between three schools, McElheny drives 100 children in the morning and 100 children in the evening.“Oh gosh, they're just amazing,” McElheny said. “These are amazing, amazing gloves.
