Laguna Beach police searching for man who hospitalized ex in alleged attack The Laguna Beach Police Department is asking for the public's help to find a man suspected of attacking his ex-girlfriend, leaving her with serious injuries that required hospitalization.The alleged attack happened Wednesday morning at a home on the 1600 block of Tahiti Avenue in the city of Laguna Beach.Police say Charles Kelley IV attacked his ex-girlfriend inside her home hours after he broke in and burglarized it. The unidentified victim suffered "significant" injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.Kelley fled the scene before police arrived and he remains outstanding. South San Francisco: Arrest made in fatal hit-and-run SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO – A BART employee has been arrested in connection with a fatal hit-and-run collision earlier this month in South San Francisco, police said.In the early morning hours of April 5, a pedestrian was struck by a driver while trying to cross southbound lanes in the 1500 block of El Camino Real, according to the South San Francisco Police Department. The pedestrian died of his injuries at the scene.The San Mateo County Coroner’s Office identified the pedestrian as 45-year-old South San Francisco resident William King.Following an investigation, detectives identified the driver as 52-year-old Newman resident Joaquin Duarte. Police said Duarte was working as a BART systems service fore worker at the time of the crash.Detectives on Tuesday arrested Duarte and booked him into San Mateo County Jail on charges of vehicular manslaughter and hit-and-run. Car crashes into Santa Rosa home, nearly strikes family: officials (KRON) -- A car crashed into a Santa Rosa home Wednesday afternoon, the Sonoma County Fire District said on Twitter. Crews responded to the 100 block of Scenic Avenue just after 5 p.m. when a blue Nissan (pictured above) crashed into the home.The Nissan stopped approximately two to three feet from where the family was sitting on a couch, according to a Sonoma County Fire District spokesperson. A blue Nissan sedan crashed into a home Wednesday afternoon (Sonoma County Fire District).No injuries were reported, officials said. As of 6:20 p.m., the cause of the crash is unknown. A building inspector and personnel from the Red Cross were called to the scene. No other information was immediately available.

Man drowns in ocean off Pacifica beach (KRON) -- A man drowned in the ocean Wednesday despite lifesaving efforts from good Samaritans who pulled him out of the water and performed CPR on the beach, Pacifica police said.Pacifica Police Department officers and North County Fire Authority paramedics were alerted at 11:05 a.m. of a possible drowning. Emergency crews arrived one minute later and found a man unconscious and not breathing on Pacifica Esplanade Beach."Officers found members of the community administering CPR to the subject who hadbeen pulled from the surf," police wrote. Paramedics continued giving the victim CPR, but they were unable to revive him. The San Mateo County Coroner’s Office is working to confirm the victim's identity. This investigation is ongoing. BART worker arrested after fatal hit-and-run in South SF Around 3:30 p.m., deputies were called to the 4300 block of Stony Point Road when a resident saw someone apparently passed out in a car on private property nearby. The deputy spoke with the man in the car but he did not have identification with him and seemed to be under the influence of drugs. The man was later identified as 26-year-old Benjamin Ulysses Brass of Santa Rosa. When dispatch checked local records, officials found that Brass was on probation for four separate court cases.
