SINGAPORE (AP) — The dominant Red Bulls were out of the picture and Formula One had its most thrilling fight for a win this season.Runaway standings leader Max Verstappen’s winning run ended at 10 races and Red Bull’s at 15 — both F1 records — as Carlos Sainz Jr. won the Singapore Grand Prix for Ferrari on Sunday.Red Bull dreamed of winning every race this year but had Verstappen fifth and Perez eighth after struggling all weekend in Singapore.Sainz started on pole position and held on with badly worn tires over several tense final laps for his second career win in F1 ahead of McLaren’s Lando Norris and the Mercedes of Lewis Hamilton. It was a four-car fight for the win before George Russell crashed the other Mercedes on the final lap from third position to promote Hamilton to the podium. “I felt under control. I felt like I could manage well and we brought it home. That was the best feeling,” Sainz said after celebrating with his team as fireworks lit up the Singapore circuit...El consejo número uno de dos madres que ganan miles de dólares en ingresos pasivos

College isn't for everyone—despite what today's youth may hear from the adults in their lives. From the moment they arrive freshman year, today's high school students are inundated with messages about the importance of receiving a college education. They hear it from their guidance counselors, teachers, parents, family members, neighbors, and coaches. While graduation from a four-year college can certainly work wonders for students' future careers, it's not necessary for all fields—something admissions officers and guidance counselors sometimes fail to mention. The median wage for high school diploma recipients is about $809 a week—higher than those without a diploma ($626), but well below the median for bachelor's degree holders ($1,334). But many jobs without college degree requirements still pay decent wages. Some even pay better than jobs reserved for degree earners.Stacker used Bureau of Labor Statistics data to find the 50 highest-paying jobs in Denver that don't require higher e...Trump says it was his decision to conclude the 2020 election was rigged

Former President Donald Trump said Sunday that he didn’t respect lawyers and members of his campaign who told him he lost the 2020 presidential election, and that it was his decision to buy into the theory that the election was rigged.“In many cases, I didn’t respect them,” Trump said during an interview on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” when asked why he decided to ignore his lawyers and advisers who told him he lost the 2020 election to Joe Biden. “But I did respect others. I respected many others that said the election was rigged.”Trump, the current frontrunner in the GOP presidential primary, is facing indictments related to his efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election. In the federal case against him, prosecutors cited the fact that Trump was told repeatedly by his lawyers that he had lost the election. Trump’s campaign lost dozens of lawsuits trying to challenge his 2020 defeat in the weeks after the election, with their baseless conspiracy theories swatted away. When pres...NATO chief warns Ukraine allies to prepare for ‘long war’

NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg warned that the war Russian President Vladimir Putin is waging on Ukraine won’t be over any time soon. “Most wars last longer than expected when they first begin,” Stoltenberg in an interview with Germany’s Funke media group published Sunday. “Therefore we must prepare ourselves for a long war in Ukraine.”“We all want a quick peace,” said Stoltenberg. “At the same time, we must recognize that if [Ukrainian President Volodymyr] Zelenskyy and the Ukrainians stop fighting, their country will no longer exist. If President Putin and Russia stop fighting, we will have peace.”The head of Ukraine’s Security Council Oleksiy Danilov, in an opinion piece published Saturday evening, said the only way to end the war is if Kyiv’s allies speed up deliveries of weapons. “Refusing or delaying the transfer of modern weapons to the Ukrainian armed forces is a direct encouragement to the kremlin to continue the war, not the other way ...US national security adviser meets top China diplomat in Malta

Orioles closer Félix Bautista took a significant step toward a potential return this season, throwing his first bullpen session since partially tearing the ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow Aug. 25 against the Colorado Rockies. The right-hander’s throwing plans had slowly progressed from playing catch on flat ground a few times a week to throwing on back-to-back days Friday and Saturday. On Sunday, he ramped up and threw about 20 to 25 pitches in the bullpen, per manager Brandon Hyde’s estimation, while mixing in splitters and sliders before the Orioles’ matinee against the Tampa Bay Rays.“I think it went pretty well,” Hyde said. “That was the next step in his throwing progression so we’ll see how he feels tomorrow, just taking it day by day. … I just ran into him after the side session and it sounds like it went pretty well, so that’s always encouraging.”Hyde tempered his feelings of encouragement with a rem...Chula Vista residents command city to reopen Harborside Park

CHULA VISTA, Calif. -- Several Chula Vista residents staged a protest Saturday, commanding that city leaders reopen the popular Harborside Park.Dozen were seen gathered outside the fence at 670 Oxford St., with many holding signs that read "Save Harborside Park!" Chula Vista City Council votes not to reopen Harborside Park yet These residents are voicing opposition to the city's idea of replacing the beloved park with high-density housing. Last year, the 5-acre park was closed by the city after it was overrun by homeless encampments.Though city leaders initially planned on reopening the space, they voted in May to investigate the possibility of declaring it as "surplus land" that could be sold to developers. "Taking it away from our children and our families now just to put more housing -- that's going to bring more families that are going to need parks," said Myssie McCann, the wife of Chula Vista Mayor John McCann. "There's no reason whatsoever that these families should have to...Latest news
