TORONTO (AP) — Sergei Bobrovsky made 34 saves, Matthew Tkachuk had three assists and the Florida Panthers survived a squandered two-goal lead to defeat the Toronto Maple Leafs 4-2 on Tuesday night in opening game of their second-round playoff series.Sam Bennett had a goal and an assist and Carter Verhaeghe and Nick Cousins also scored for Florida. DENVER (KDVR) -- A downtown restaurant owner broke down into tears during an emotional plea to Denver City Council Monday night. Don Hines, the owner of Yazoo BBQ Company, is calling on city leaders to take action after he said crime in the area is taking a toll on his business.“Something needs to be done and nothing has been done for three years,” Hines said.Crime and vandalism in Downtown DenverHines opened Yazoo BBQ more than a decade ago with no previous restaurant experience. “When I first opened, I’d call him [Hines’ Father] every day,” Hines said. CASTLE ROCK, Colo. (KDVR) — A Castle Rock mother alleges her children have been the victims of bullying and racism since 2018, while enrolled in Douglas County schools. In the latest alleged incident, Lacey Ganzy said her 14-year-old son has been the target of racist language while attending Castle Rock Middle School. "I feel like the victim in these cases is the one that’s punished, because there’s no advocacy for a right or wrong on this policy. It’s crazy to me," she said. DENVER (KDVR) — Pandemic recovery continues with airline travel expected to increase by more than 20% during the summer months, according to AAA of Colorado. "With surging demand, limited inventory, if you wait, you might not be able to take the trip you want to take," spokesperson Skyler McKinley said. A report compiled by the travel agency reveals nearly 80% of Colorado residents plan to travel this year, with three-quarters planning summer trips. (KDVR) — A group of brothers, all survivors of the shooting at STEM School Highlands Ranch, are raising money for a law enforcement therapy dog program by selling garden boxes.The Watson brothers — BG, Bannon and Brycen — know the dogs of the Arapahoe County Sheriff's therapy dog program well. Brycen named them off when FOX31 visited them on Tuesday afternoon. The first commercial biometric gun is now for sale The brothers were all younger than 10 years old when they became survivors of a school shooting.The boys never returned to STEM after the shooting, instead moving away before returning back to Centennial with their family.
