Community relieved Charlotte Sena found alive CORINTH, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The search for 9-year-old Charlotte Sena took 48 hours, with an Amber Alert issued on October 1. Residents around the North Country have chances in store to learn more about the condition, which is diagnosed in nearly 300,000 women per year. Five workshops will be held at locations ranging from Glens Falls to Chestertown, educating the public on how to detect breast cancer early. O'Fallon man sentenced for leaving scene of deadly crash ST. LOUIS - An O'Fallon, Missouri, man who left the scene of a deadly crash in St. Louis City nearly three years ago will spend several years behind bars.A judge has sentenced John W. Springer, 41, to seven years in prison in connection with the crash. Missouri minister among those who died in chemical truck crash According to charging documents, Springer was speeding at least 30 mph above the speed limit when he struck 39-year-old Melissa Bassett on Oct. 16, 2020. The crash happened at North Broadway and Jackson Street in the city’s Baden neighborhood. Bassett died nearly two weeks after the collision. According to charging documents, a witness saw Springer drive off after the crash. He later pleaded guilty last year to a felony count of fleeing a crash resulting in death. Nationwide emergency alert test scheduled for Wednesday Cell phones, TVs and radios across the U.S. will get an alert Wednesday, Oct. 4, afternoon during a nationwide test of the Integrated Public Alert and Warning System.FEMA will conduct the test to ensure the Wireless Emergency Alerts and the Emergency Alert System are effective in warning the public about national emergencies.Starting about 12:20 p.m. (2:20 p.m. EST) for about 30 minutes, mobile phones with all major U.S. wireless providers within range of an active cell tower will receive the test for the Wireless Emergency Alerts part of the test.IMPORTANT: On Wednesday, Oct. 4th at 2:20 p.m. ET, there will be a nationwide emergency alert test on cell phones, wireless devices, radios, and TVs.This is a standard test that occurs at least once every three years.
